These are the most import parts of a Data Plan as approximately 44% of all Data Loss is a result of Hardware Malfunctions or Failure and about 32% of Data Loss or Corruption is a result of human error. Therefore it is critical to understand the expected life spans of hard drives, workstations and storage serves and have a comprehensive update plan to prevent critical data loss due to hardware malfunctions. Since the next greatest data loss occurs from human error, having a personnel data management plan including who has access to critical data and who is responsible for backing up mission critical data can reduce the risk of a data disaster loss. The most critical part of preventing a Data loss Disaster is implementing the proper data storage devices needed for your business needs.

After having a comprehensive Data Management Plan in place you should then have a Data Disaster Recovery Plan in place. Beyond your control incidents have taken out many of the best prepared data centers. Lightning storms, Electrical surges, Flooding and other Natural disasters as well as hacking and virus attacks can cause a data disaster for your Business. How long and how bad the impact to your business depends on the Disaster Plan you have prepared. Having a logical IT recovery plan and pre determined designated recovery team in place will lessen the impact to your business.

. Recovering data from a failing hard drive is not advisable. Attempting to do so can result in complete loss of your data. If your hard drive is slow to access, slow to copy data to or from or has folders that are not accessible or empty all indicate that the drive is falling. The best course of action is to shut the drive down and call one of our data recovery Techs. All hard drives are forensically imaged for any data recovery services. Our Forensic Imaging hardware has a unique ability to recover bad sectors. Few imaging devices or software can deal with massive sector failures. Our hardware is adjustable for multiple attempts to read bad sectors resulting in a very high success rate of recovering data from those sectors. Multiple attempts to read bad sectors with our hardware will not shut down the hard drive due to bad sector limitations of the SMART feature of the Hard Drive. Forensic imaging is the byte by byte imagining of every sector of the client hard drive. We have successfully recovered many hard drives with over 800,000 plus bad sectors. We provide Certified Forensic imaging for eDiscovery cases, Forensic Data Recovery and Forensic data imaging of all make and models of hard drives, raid arrays, flash drives, and micro hard drives. External Hard Drive Data Recovery - SAS External Hard Drive - SATA External Hard Drive - SSD External Drives

Unable to access your data on your external drive? Is your external drive clicking or buzzing or simply not powering up? Can you see your external drive data but are unable to open the files or read write or copy data to the external hard drive? We provide data recovery for all makes and models of External Hard drive. All external hard drives will contain one of the following major brand hard drives: Seagate, Seagate BarraCuda, Seagate FireCuda, Seagate IronWolf, Seagate SkyHawk, Western Digital, WD HGST, Seagate Samsung, Toshiba, Seagate Maxtor, Hitachi, or Fujitsu. External hard drives are generally portable SATA hard drives or SSD Flash Media Drives connected to the computer via USB, FireWire or Thunderbolt.

We also provide raid data recovery for any brand of external hard drive configured is a raid array. Most external drives set in a raid array are usually configured in a striped, raid 0, array or a mirrored, raid 1 array. Data Recovery of external hard drive raid arrays are generally recovered within 12 -24 hours of receipt of the drives.

The most common external hard drive data recovery issues come from corrupted firmware modules or motor spindle seizure. Corrupted firmware generally occurs when the external drive is dropped while running or unplugging the drive before a read and write operation is completed. Spindle seizure usually occurs when the external drive is knocked over or dropped. This type of data recovery will require a Platter exchange and a clean room recovery. Either recovery case will cost our same Flat rate price. We recommend, when using an external drive, that you lay all stand up external drive flat on your desk to reduce the chance of the external drive being knocked over.

External hard drives were designed to backup data from your pc or server. By moving your data from your pc to the external drive you have made the external drive a primary data storage device, without any backup. Backing up data to multiple external drives is the only safe method of securing your data. Cloud storage of your data is another method of backup. Cloud storage should only be considered as a third backup as data can be corrupted in the upload or download transmissions.

Raid Data Recovery - Raid Hard Drive Data Recovery - Raid Array Data Recovery

Raid Hard Drive configuration RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is the combining of two or more hard drives working in unison to gain greater levels of performance, redundant reliability, and or to create a larger hard drive volume sizes. In the past this type of configuration was generally used only by large companies. Today, many small business and home users are finding an ever increasing need for servers and mass external storage devices to store there ever expanding data needs. When multiple raid configured hard drive arrays fail, special software and hard were is needed to successfully recover your data.

We provide Worldwide Data Reconstruction for all Raid levels. If you have a raid array fail in your SAN Server, Raid Server or NAS server do NOT attempt to rebuild the array unless you have a complete backup off all the data, separate from the Failing Raid array. Attempting to do so can corrupt data if not completely loose your data.

Most Server and NAS arrays are built using drives that were from the same lot. When one drive fails there is now a high probability of other drives in the array will fail in short order.. If other drives in the array fail during the rebuilding of the array you will most likely loose your data. If you do not have a complete and current backup of your data from the array then the best choice is to power off the server and call one of our raid specialist. We have found that most of our Corporate Clients and Business Clients are relying on their raid array as to sole source of their data backup based on the redundancy of raids. This is a practice that will lead to disaster. Raid Arrays fail for many reasons as do single hard drives, CDs, and DVD,s Flash Drives and SSD Drives, Cloud storage. Protection from data loss can only be accomplished by multiple copies of the data and understanding the life expectancies of media storage devices. During the past year we have found many Raid array recovery clients with a replace hard drive from a different manufacture or model number. This is another practice that will put the drives out of step which can cause slower read and write speeds and possible lost of the array.

Raid arrays are configured in raid levels based on the performance and redundancy that is required for the application. Raid levels vary from hardware arrays and software arrays Raid Levels consist of Standard, Non Standard Raid levels.

We provide advanced raid data recovery for hard drives configured in the following raid levels: configured in Raid 0, Raid 1, Raid 1 – 0, Raid 10, Raid 3, Raid 4, Raid 5, Raid 6, ZFS Raid, Raid 5e, Raid 5ee, raid 15, Raid 6E, Raid 1.5, Raid 7, Raid-DP, Raid S, Matrix Raid, Raid-K, Raid-Z, Raidn, Linux MD 10, IBM ServeRaid 1E, unRaid, Drobo BeyondRaid, Nested Array, Hybrid Array, Raid Data Reconstruction Recovery from hard drives configured in Standard Raid Levels Raid 0, Raid 1, Raid 2, Raid 3, Raid 4, Raid 5, Raid 6. Raid Array Issues - Raid Array Recoveries

Raid array failure for most corporate users is generally a minor several hour inconvenience as they are more likely to have a disaster plan in place to deal with raid array failures. Large corporations generally have the resources to have multiple servers so that ALL their data is not concentrated on one server. They will usually have multiple up to data backups and possibly a backup server ready to go on line.

Having a raid array failure or a single drive failure is a disaster for most home users and small to medium size business users. Panic sets in as you see your entire digital life gone or your entire business shut down. What you do next can determine if this disaster turns into a Major Disaster or a Catastrophic Disaster.

Remove the server array from the network and Shut the system down. This includes an active array with just a single drive failure. Do not attempt to rebuild the array unless you have a good backup copy of all your data including the most recent files. Remove all of the drives from the array. Build a new array with new drives and start rebuilding your array from your data backup, even if the backup is old and out of date. If your raid array needs to be recovered you will already have the server and your company up and running. Once the recovered data is back you will simply be updating the array. Even if you have a complete and sound backup of the array, rebuilding using the remaining good drives may result in corrupted data, lost files or failure of other drives in the array. With most businesses, getting the company back up and running and recovering all the data is most important. Buy following the previous steps you have the server up an running in the quickest amount of time and you have the failed array secured so no other damage or data loss can occur.

I know this goes against what older IT administrations and Techs were taught. We have a combine 57 years experience building, recovery, maintaining and implementing raid arrays on servers, NAS devices, SAN Servers and DAS Servers. This is not how we were taught when it came to recovering a failed raid. Back when, we were limited to the software and hardware that was available to use for bad drives, like CheckDisk, Fsck, Spinrite, all of which are destructive programs. Destructive because they re write data on the hard drive attempting to correct errors in the MTF or Journaling systems or moving data from a bad sector to a good sector sector. With an active failed raid array, with no backup, copying the data or cherry picking the data was the only choice then attempt to add a new drive for the failing array and attempt to rebuild the array for several hours or days. How many arrays have you spent hours on a rebuild, only to have another drive go and the array fail?

Why Not copy the active data from a failing raid array or replace a failed drive and rebuild? The main reason is that when the array was first constructed at the factory or by an IT department, all the drives used in the array were the same make and model drive. All the drives were most likely purchased at the same time from the same location and most probably were all manufactured at the same time and are from the same lot. If one drive from the same lot fails, there is a very high probability that other drives will shortly fail with the same problem. At this point why the drive failed is not of concern. Your only concern at the moment is to protect the integrity of the data on the drives. If you start a rebuild and another drive fails you may corrupt or loose data on the array. The only safe course of action is to remove all the drives from the array and have each forensically imaged with forensic hardware and software designed for data recovery and having the ability to deal with bad sectors.

Bad sector failure is the second major concern when attempting to rebuild a failing array. Greater density has been gain on the hard drives by the compression of tracks and sectors to produce greater capacity on the same size platters of 20 years ago. Failing sectors are now more critical then in years past, especially when dealing with multiple drives in a raid array.

Dear John, I just wanted to express my gratefulness for recovering 100% data off my seriously fried hard drive. It spent a week at Staples IT Dept. with no avail. Several days of calling around to companies specializing in recovery. Their starting prices was $500 (Despite some advertised a lot less). At this point I was concerned that once they have a "hook in" I would be stuck paying their est. high end price of $2500. After contacting you, I was at ease with your "No recovery, No fee policy", Fixed flat inexpensive rate and the time you spent educating me on the process. I also appreciated the great communication, providing updates on the recovery status, the short amount of time it took to forensically recover the data and return it to me. Please feel free to pass my contact info. to anyone that has any iota of a doubt regarding the veracity of US-Data Recovery. Thank You Roger T.

"When our iMac's hard drive crashed, my wife and I were mortified as we had been remiss in doing our hard drive backups. After taking the computer to a Mac specialist, he informed us that he was unable to retrieve any of our data, but he referred us to US Data Recovery as a last resort. Admittedly, we were not hopeful at that point but we had some invaluable data on that hard drive that we thought it was worth a shot. I contacted US Data Recovery and was walked through the process in a very professional manner. Within two days of sending our crashed hard drive, US Data Recovery contacted me to tell me that they had been able to retrieve all of our data. Within one week of shipping the drive to them, we had our data returned to us - it was more than worth the price. Additionally, US Data Recovery gave me some incredibly helpful advice and information for some go-forward data backup best practices. We cannot thank them enough for help they gave us and I will recommend them to everyone in need without reservation." - Anthony Burton Charlotte, NC"

After a disastrous experience with multiple Apple stores and days spent searching for a reasonable data recovery option, I discovered John at US Data Recovery.  Not only did they offer the best price around, but he was able to save all of my documents, pictures and music within a matter of days.

While I hope to never be in need of data recovery in the future, John will be my first and only call.

“US Data Recovery was recommended to us by a local computer repair shop that had very limited capabilities to recover damaged disks. Unfortunately I had not backed up my files in two months because of my manual back-up system (you better believe it is automatic and daily now). I immediately sensed that John was an expert who could be trusted when we first talked by phone. He has been patient with my follow-up calls, and his pricing model is very reasonable for a small business owner like me. I plan to recommend US Data Recovery to lots of other people and recommend that you do the same.”

John at US Data Recovery was a delight to work with.  After a frustrating trip to the Apple store, John was able to restore my hard drive and help me get all my pictures back that I use in my business and personally.  The service was fast and easy to use and John was able to answer all of my questions over the phone.  I will definitely use US Data Recovery again if needed in the future.

“Thank you for your quick response on my SATA SAS RAID DATA RECOVERY! My business could have been down for days – but with your fast and considerate service you had my business back up and running in 3 days! Every other data company I called said they couldn’t even get to my data for 3 days AND their cost was more than double what you charged!

Unless – of course – I wanted to pay them a huge amount to expedite their service, on top of their huge fee?

You promised you would not charge me anything if you didn’t recover my data but I was happy to pay – because you got my business data back! Thank you again – I will be referring you to everyone!

"The drives arrived Saturday morning and we were back up by Saturday afternoon. I spent the rest of the afternoon inputting data that was missed while we were down and to date have not found anything missing.

I can't begin to thank you enough for your speedy effi

cient service. I'll admit I was nervous sending them out to an unknown entity in another state. I'll also admit to doing minor research on your organization before sending out my drives. I'm sure you can appreciate the

need for due diligence when entrusting our hard drives and accounting data to "a total stranger I found on the internet". I actually called one of your references and checked a variety of websites including both the BBB and the Florida Attorney General's office websites to make sure there was nothing out there to cause me concern.

I must tell you that you exceeded my expectations in restoring my data and returning it quickly. My records show that you received the hard drives shortly after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday and that you had completed the restoration by 6:30 a.m. on Friday. Very impressive considering most companies told me it was questionable if they would even be able to recover our data since two of the four drives in our Raid 5 Array were down. Most other data recovery companies quoted me a minimum of 3-5 days to attempt it and at a significantly higher rate. Thank you - you have no idea what a relief it is to have our data back.

I would definitely recommend US-Data Recovery for anyone needing data retrieval services. You were helpful, efficient and quick to respond. Thank you again!"

"I am deeply impressed and grateful to John & US Data Recovery for not only retrieving my data & saving me over $1300 but being so honest and forthright about what was actually wrong with my drive and taking the time to explain the process. Finally, a company with integrity, skill, intelligence and clear, considerate communication. I highly recommend US Data Recovery!!!"

"Another company did a diagnostic on my drive and said it would cost $1600 because the head was bad. A 3rd company offered a flat rate of $1200 claiming even if it cost more they will stick to the $1200 price. John looked at it and in less than 24 hrs he responded to me explaining that there was nothing wrong with my drive or data at all but in the connection between the housing & the power source. He put it into another enclosure and it started right up! Honest people may be a dying breed but I am SO glad to know there are still some people who would rather do a good job, help people and be paid a fair price! THANK YOU US DATA RECOVERY!!!"

"I selected your company due to your reputation and your extremely competitive prices.  After corresponding with you, I felt like I had selected the right business to help me.  You certainly didn't disappoint me.

Not only did you recover my data, you identified a problem with my hardware that was validated by another computer expert.  You presented a couple of feasible solutions to my problem before implementing one that solved another problem before it got worse.

When I received my drive back and saw the files that I thought had been irrevocably lost, I was ecstatic.   My digital photo album was priceless and you were able to get every single picture file back.  That was worth the recovery cost by itself.

I will not hesitate to recommend your service to others and wish to thank you very much again for an outstanding job!  Your patience and courtesy in dealing with a non-computer person is very much appreciated.  I owe you a sincere debt of gratitude"

"Late on Monday August 3rd, our company experienced a hard drive failure on our main accounting server.  On Tuesday, we determined that the two backups that we had were worthless and were bracing the prospect of weeks of data entry to rebuild our records.  We checked with several local places who advertised “Hard Drive Recovery” and they could do nothing.  That’s when we located US Data Recovery in Port Richey, Florida.   One of the employees drove it to Port Richey that evening. John Mahaney quickly assessed the drive and began the process of recovering the data. The recovered data was put on a DVD in the wee hours of the morning and we were up and running early on Wednesday the 5th.  All this for a very reasonable fee – less than the expedite fee of data recovery competitor.  We highly recommend US Data Recovery!"

"US-DataRecovery did an excellent job to recover all the files on my 1Gig Activa Flash drive. I sent it at 5 pm on 3/2/09 from Atlanta; they received it in the afternoon of 3/4/09 and by 5:34 pm they had recovered and notified me by email. I finished the deal by PayPal (only $75!) and that very evening they sent me the CD. I am back-up-and-running with my financial Excel files and caught up on my business records. Many thanks to John! "

" Thanks for the quick service in recovery my photographs from the crashed hard drive.

Our Association recommends another Data Recovery Company.  Your turn around time was far superior and your pricing much more reasonable.  Please send some of your brochures and cards that I could pass out at our upcoming conference.  Below is the contact for our Association. I am not sure what their arraignment is with their recommended Data Recovery Company, but I believe you could provide our members with more reasonable and higher quality service. "

“John,

Just a note to say thank you once again for getting my data back.  The Data you recovered was two years of work on the books I am writing.  Your pricing and return time were far more reasonable then other companies that I had contacted.  I would love to write an article for our newspaper here about your business……”
